Like many of you, I was skeptical about jumping into the Twitter pool. But I am so glad I did and encourage you to take the plunge!

Things to write about on Twitter:

  • company information
  • announcements
  • achievements
  • new product information
  • conduct polls
  • challenges
  • scoops
  • opportunities
  • provide feedback
  • ask for  information
  • favorite things
  • recent vacation

and the list goes on.

Don’t  forget to keep it personable and offer help where you can, while avoiding the hard sell. A good mix of personal and business will go a long way in help you build your followers list and gain you a reputation as a “Great Tweeter”!

Although many people balk at the ideas of some of the items I have listed, once you are introduced to the many tools available to manage your Tweets, Direct Messages etc., you will no doubt find, as I did, that Twitter is the new IM and email blasts  all wrapped up into one.
