Everyone has to have a profile to be on Facebook. However, having a Facebook page is optional.
Why bother?
Here’s why:
- Having a Page in addition to your Profile on Facebook helps with indexing and search engine ranking.
- With your Profile, you can add up to a maximum 5000 friends. With a Page, you can add unlimited “fans”, with whom you can communicate directly.
- Great platform for connecting with clients and prospects alike
- Ability to analyze followers or “fans”
- FREE , FREE, FREE!!!!
Things to consider before you set up your page
- Name – since you cannot change this once it is set up, you want to think it through to be sure it reflects what you want and remember, it will form a part of your URL.
- Content – what do you want to do with this tool? Interact with “fans”? Create an engaging presence? Capture new audiences virally? All of the above?
- Overall look – will it mimic your brand or have its own? Which images will it have?
